About

Born and raised in China, Tong Ge came to Canada in the late 1980s as an international student. Since 2012, her poetry, prose, and short stories in both English and Chinese have appeared in North America, England, mainland China, and Taiwan. Her debut novel, The House Filler, was published in Canada in 2023 and has since garnered wide recognition. It is a finalist for the 2023 Eyelands Book Awards, the 2024 Canadian Book Club Awards, and the 2025 International Book Awards. The novel has also received numerous honors, including the 2024 Independent Press Award for New Fiction, the NAIWE (National Association of Independent Writers and Editors) Book Award for Literary Fiction, the 2025 Maxy Award for Historical & Adventure Fiction, the 2025 Storytrade Book Awards for Literary Fiction and Historical Fiction, and second place in the 2025 BookFest Award for Literary-Historical Fiction. Tong Ge is also a recipient of the 2025 Top 25 Canadian Immigrants Award, recognized primarily for her achievements in literature.
