Tom Burkhalter was born in Georgia. His parents could never decide if the first word he ever spoke was "airplane" or "star." They did agree he pointed at a moving light in the sky! He lives in Hickory, NC, where he volunteers at the Hickory Aviation Museum and pursues his writing career and his omnivorous tastes in reading.
