Steve Orme is an award-winning journalist. He worked on newspapers and magazines before moving into radio and television. He has been fascinated with crime ever since he attended magistrates’ courts as a cub reporter. He published his first crime novel, Storm Deaths, in 2021. A second, Storm Bodies, followed in 2024. Storm Ransom will be released in 2026.

He is also a playwright. His first stage play, What’s Your Poison?, about the Victorian serial killer Dr William Palmer, toured the UK in 2023.

He lives in Derby, England with his wife Sue. They have a grown-up son.
