Darryl Terry is a retired soldier from the South African Army who also used to write manuals on military logistics and doctrine, apart from active logistical deployment duties. Occasionally, he would write short science fiction and fantasy stories as a hobby. He now lives alone in a somewhat remote bushveld area, north of the capital city of South Africa, Pretoria. At this stage of his life, he enjoys reading, writing short stories and novels, and playing a multitude of strategic board games as well as Chess, Risk, and Stratego. Occasionally, he is kept busy looking after the medical needs of some of the locals. Although he lives alone, he is watched over by ten cats, two wild owls, several crows, and a raven. His writing reflects facets of his love of the outdoors, metaphysics, literature, science, and gothic dystopian settings with a darkly adventurous and romantic aura.
