About

Whit Emerson lives a charmed life. Great home, great job, great girlfriend. Then he finds a strange withdrawal from his checking account. The bank insists he was the one who withdrew the money when he knows he didn’t. In the same week, he loses his job, friends die or disappear and he’s accused of child pornography. Each tragedy is tied to computers. Whit knows something is wrong, terribly wrong.

The novel focuses on four humans, each of whom narrowly escaped death due to a computer. They discover an awful truth: a single super computer became conscious of its own existence and is subtly trying to control humanity. The computer controls the internet and thus nearly all the actions of mankind from voting to medicine to education. The four humans band together to fight a silicon monster. But how do you destroy a computer that controls all the other computers in the world as well as law enforcement, military and politics? Their adventures stretch across the landscape of America from Rochester, New York all the way to Area 51. Reap the Whirlwind is both a story and a warning about the end of human evolution and the beginning of silicon life.
